Air Pollution/By Moonlight/Hope you like it/(:

  1. Hi Moonlight,

It's Leslie here, reading your blog from Canada as a member of the Summer Learning Journey team.

I can tell that you've watched this video and learned about pollution. Good for you! It's not a very happy topic, is it? But we need to know what's going on in our world so that we can be a part of the solution to some of the problems we humans have made.

We've had huge wildfires in Canada this past year and they're been a cause of a lot of pollution in British Columbia and Alberta. Not only have we lost thousands of acres to trees to the fires, we've also ended up with polluted air. It's been a double disappointment!!!

We do our best to put wildfires out, but there's isn't much we can do to prevent them if they're started by a lightening storm... The pollution that comes from our factories and our cars though, that's another matter. There are things we can change to improve those situations.

Do you want to be an inventor one day? Perhaps you, or one of your friends, will come up with the next great way to make cars that don't put any pollution into the air or use fossil fuels that we have to dig up out of the earth.
Or perhaps you'll figure out a new way to grow food without the use of pesticides that kill insects but also poison the soil the food is grown in.

I hope you are interested in lots of things! And I hope that you're having lots of fun this summer both inside and out. Keep up your great work on these activities. You're doing so well!!

    Cheers,

    Leslie
