It's Leslie here, reading your blog as a member of the Summer Learning Journey team. I live in Canada, on the opposite side of the planet from you.
You've given this activity some careful thought and come up with a varied list of animals. Good for you!! I hope that some day you can see all of these animals, one way or another. I would hate for any of them to become extinct.
You've given good reasons for wanting to save each one. It sounds like you're a real cat person. Do you have a pet cat in your home? Or do you have other kinds of pets?
Our daughter, Leigh, loves cats too and so we had a cat for many years. Her name was Patience. I think Leigh named her that because she had had to be very patient waiting for her mom and dad to allow her to have this special pet. My husband and I are much more comfortable with dogs than cats, I'm afraid.
We have a dog now named Spirit, an Australian Shepherd. She's adorable and she keeps us busy taking her out for walks several times a day. Fortunately I love being outside and I love walking, so it's all good.
I hope you're enjoying lots of time outdoors this summer and I hope you're having fun with these SLJ activities. Before we know it the week will be over and the program will end. Hard to believe!!
