    Hey Moonlight,

    Thank you for sharing this incredible information. I really liked the fact about how it is thought Kupe landed in New Zealand 1000 years ago. I can't even imagine how brave Kupe must have been to journey on such a huge adventure. You have done some amazing research and share some interesting information. However, activity 1 of the Summer Learning Journey, asks you to read about Maui and post 3 facts about this brave man. Could you please continue with answering activity 1 so I can award you with FULL points.

    my name is Cia. I am a Summer Learning Journey blogger who will be working with you over the summer break.

    Thank you for sharing some cool facts about Kupe the explorer, I like how you thought about how he navigated his way around Aotearoa. I agree that he might of used the stars to help him as our polynesian ancestors did back in those ancient days.

    I remember learning about Abel Tasman the dutch seafarer (a person who travels the ocean) who drew the first map of New Zealand. How do you think Māori navigated their way around when they weren’t using the stars or maps?

    Well done for making a good start to the Summer Learning Journey Moonlight, I look forward to reading more of your blog posts this summer.
