  1. Hi Moonlight,

Leslie here from the Summer Learning Journey team, reading your blog from sunny, cold Canada. I feel very very lucky to live in a part of my country that isn't troubled by smog. I can only imagine how difficult it must be to live in a situation where you have a hard time breathing and/or the air makes you feel ill.

You've created a wonderful poem - good for you! You've represented that Beijing has wonderful things to see and do, but that its smoggy air can be a real problem.

Have you ever been in a place that has serious air pollution? I hope not.
I was glad to read that the Chinese government is making an effort to pass laws requiring industries to reduce the amount of pollution they produce. Yeah. Air pollution doesn't just affect the places where it is produced, of course. Eventually the toxic wastes that start in one country travel all around the world on the winds so everyone and every creature is affected in the long run.

We do live on a small planet so that whatever we do has a big impact. I try to keep that in mind when I make my choices as to what I eat and how I get from one place to another....

I hope you're getting out and about this summer, having lots of fun outside as well as enjoying these activities.

I'll enjoy reading more of your blog.

    Cheers,

    Leslie
